We look forward to our 2019 Combined Sections Meeting in Coronado. Thank you to our Program Chair, Paul Willging, MD who, together with the program committee, has assembled an innovative program including panels, papers and video sessions of interest to all otolaryngologists-head and neck surgeons, who are in community based practice or affiliated with academic institutions.

The Hotel Del Coronado is located on picturesque Coronado Island, just a short distance from downtown San Diego. The Hotel Del has much to offer attendees and their families.

A discounted rate of $275/per night plus 11.56% tax and a $15 resort fee per room, per night gives attendees unlimited internet access in guest rooms and public areas, local and toll free calls; in-room coffee, tea and bottled water; live streaming of Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, YouTube and Crackle and discount tickets to top San Diego attractions. It also includes access to the Fitness center that offers unlimited indoor fitness classes and beach yoga.

Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival date in order to receive a full deposit refund. Space is limited and reservations received after FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2018 or after the room block fills are subject to rate and space availability. A one night deposit is required at the time of booking.

To obtain the necessary amount of meeting and exhibit space required for this meeting, the Triological Society must commit to a minimum number of guest rooms. If that commitment is not met, the Triological Society may incur financial penalties and have difficulty obtaining meeting space in desirable locations in the future. We appreciate your support of these efforts by booking your reservation within the Triological Society room block.

Check in time is 4:00 pm. While every effort will be made to accommodate guests arriving prior the check in time, rooms may not be immediately available. Checkout time is 12:00 pm.

GOLF SERVICES - There is no shortage of remarkable golf courses in the San Diego area and the Coronado Municipal Golf Course is no exception! Just minutes from the Hotel Del, this course is set beneath the Coronado Bridge and has some of the best views of the harbor and San Diego skyline. This scenic course along Glorietta Bay has open tree lined fairways, large greens, and is ideal for the recreational golfer. William Francis Bell, original designer of Torrey Pines Golf Course, redesigned Coronado Golf Course in 1968.

Exhibit Hall Hours

The Exhibit Hall provides attendees the opportunity to network with representatives from instrument companies, pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic equipment companies, publishers, public service companies, and others. Attendees are encouraged to visit the exhibits for information that may assist in their pursuit of improved patient care.

There will be a daily raffle as well as a grand prize to be awarded at the end of the meeting.

Meeting Registration

Meeting registration includes entrance to the scientific sessions, the exhibit hall, poster viewing, program materials, continental breakfast each day, lunch on Thursday and Saturday, the Welcome Reception and the Poster Reception and Wrap Up Party. The Thesis Seminar is offered on a complimentary basis to candidates and potential candidates for Fellowship in the Triological Society (pre-registration is required). All registration is online through a secure site. We cannot accept paper forms or checks..

Online meeting registration now closed -- Early registration discount ends on December 14, 2018 and fees will increase on December 15th. Online meeting registration closed at 11:59 pm Central Standard Time on January 11, 2019. After January 11th, registration will be available onsite only.

Requests for refund of registration and guest passport fees must be made in writing by or before January 4, 2019. Email Marsha Holbert or fax 531-355-8905. There is a $50 processing fee for all refunds. “No shows” will not receive a refund.

Meeting Activities

Triological Society Thesis Seminar (pre-registration required)   •   Building your Triological Thesis: Planning, Starting and Finishing
Friday, January 25th 12:45 - 1:30 pm

This seminar is for Triological Society active candidates as well as those interested in pursuing Active Fellowship in the Triological Society. Candidates will learn how to select and focus on an appropriate topic and research question, how to select a study design based on the research question, and how to select variables. The seminar will present some useful tips on organizing, analyzing, and presenting the data, and sources of funding for continued investigation. The seminar will be conducted by Dana M. Thompson, MD, Thesis Committee Chair. You must pre-register for this seminar to ensure that minimum registration numbers are met. There is no fee for this seminar. We may not be able to accept walk-ins based on space.

Resident Bowl Competition (pre-registration required)

Our outstanding Resident Bowl is not listed as a separate session on Friday, which is the typical timeslot, as it will be incorporated into our scientific program which will allow all registrants the opportunity to participate. It will be the same highly interactive session with esteemed resident teams. Cheering allowed---and encouraged!

Triological Society Business Meetings (Triological Society Fellows Only)

The Section business meetings will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings from 7:00 am - 7:50 am, prior to the scientific sessions. The Southern and Western Section business meetings will be held concurrently on Friday morning and the Middle and Eastern Section business meetings will be held concurrently on Saturday.


American Society of Geriatric Otolaryngology Scientific Session   •   Friday, January 25th 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (subject to change)

ASGO will hold their scientific session on Friday afternoon. The program and registration will be available here. ASGO attendees must register for and pay applicable registration fees for Triological Society meeting.

Travel Awards ($750) Available to Residents, Medical Students, and Fellows

To help offset travel expenses incurred by medical students, residents and Fellows chosen to make presentations at Triological Society meetings, travel funds in the amount of $750 will be awarded to training programs for each medical student, resident, and Fellow selected for a podium or poster presentation. Presenters residing in the city where the meeting is held do not qualify for travel awards.

Social and Networking Events

You are invited to mingle with your colleagues and guests and meet Triological Society candidates, as well as discuss the first day of the program and the upcoming scientific sessions and meeting events. This reception will be hosted by the four Section Vice Presidents, Drs. Woo, Lavertu, Senior and Wong. Light appetizers and beverages will be provided.

Continental Breakfasts and Breaks (included in registration fee)

Continental breakfast will be available in the exhibit hall and poster area each morning. All refreshment breaks will take place in the exhibit hall and poster area.


Golf Outing Friday afternoon, January 25th

The annual golf outing will be held at the conclusion of the morning session.

Clinical and Research Posters will be available for viewing throughout the duration of the program. Light appetizers and beverages will be available during the "Meet the Authors" poster reception. All poster authors will be available to discuss their posters with the attendees. Poster awards will be given in numerous categories.

Lunches in the Exhibit Hall

Lunch will be available in the exhibit hall/poster area on Thursday and Saturday, giving you an additional opportunity to visit with exhibitors and learn about the latest technology and products available as well as time to network with your colleagues.
